What Causes High BP And Swelling In Body Parts During Periods?

I had an abortion three years ago and i suffer from thyroid problem since the last ten years for which i am medicated with Eltroxin. Nowadays my B.P. is usually high during my period cycle and I have swelling in many parts of my body. Is this a relation to any of this?
