What Causes High BP Despite Taking Losartan?

How long after taking losartan 25mg should it take for full effect on blood pressure. Previously taking lisinopril 2.5 and chlorthaline 12.5. Took first losartan late last night, bp was low this morning (possibly still had previous meds in system), and now about 6 hours later bp is higher than it should be. Is this normal? Does it take a few days to fully kick in on bp? Have seen some drs on here say should work within a couple of hours, others say a few days. Is there a consensus?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
It may take two or three days on the Losartan to see if it properly regulates your high blood pressure. If at that time it doesn't, the dosage should be increased
