Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 38 and recently started to experience high blood pressure (Monday was 140/110) and was then hospitalized with chest pressure and feeling like a 5 pound weight was on my chest. I also began to develop a migraine. My pressure peaked at 204/106 with normal exams. What should I do now besides my medication regime that they prescribed?
Hi welcome HCM, Symptoms of heaviness in the chest can be due to pooling of blood with in the heart, termed as "congestive heart failure" which can develop due to high uncontrolled blood pressure. There can be associated hypertrophy of the left ventricle.prompt reduction of blood pressure is required in cases with blood pressure above 200/100.Drugs like enalaprilat can cause rapid reduction of blood pressure.Restrict intake of salt.Get an ecg and screening 2Decho.Consult a cardiologist for further queries. thank you
