Hi, I have gone for LFT(before breakfast) and i found my SGOT to be 48 and SGPT to be 58. I have also gone for Uric Acd test and it is coming out to be 7.1. Please let me know the reason for high levels of SGOT and Uric Acid. I dont drink or smoke, but i take Non-Veg regularly.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern and would explain that the high SGOT and SGPT levels could be related to painkillers (if you have taken lately) or a chronic liver infection or biliary stones.

For this reason, I would recommend also performing an abdominal ultrasound and some further blood lab tests (anti-HBV, anti HCV, HBsAg, etc.).

Regarding the high uric acid levels, they could be indicative of a high protein diet or to Podagra.

I recommend discussing with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
