General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Elevated blood pressure during pregnancy is known as gestational hypertension. in case of associated protein in urine or seizures, it can be classified as preeclampsia or eclampsia.

Normally, post delivery, the blood pressure returns to normal. In a small percentage of people, BP remains high for a few months.

Do not worry as it can be controlled easily by medications. Undergo regular BP testings to check for your BP returning to normal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
