Hello,

Generally antihypertensives take time to act and if the medicines are recently started/changed by his doctor I feel waiting further is best option. In case weeks has been passed after the latest prescription it is advisable to see his doctor. The readings are not in emergency range and there is little to worry.

Hello,

Depot preparation have less possibility to cause heavy periods although it is possible that it remained there unnoticed due to use of depot contraceptives. I mean to say that hormones used in depo injection are same which are used to treat heavy periods and this could have obscured the problem for a while.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar,
