Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 64 and quite healthy, not overweight. I do not smoke or drink. My blood pressure was fluctuating. The last to Dr. visits it went up to 145 over 91. My dad had a stroke at 62, TIA's and he was slim, and a non smoker.
Anyhow day 2 of 5 mgs of rampiral, my pressure today was even worse 171/98. What is going on? I do not feel terrific on the med.
The nurse scared me further and asked if i have a chest pain or jaw pain. I do not.
I played tennis and went to the gym. I excercise quite a bit for my age, and do eat healthy.
Shouls I request a 24 hr heart monitor, and stress test? I am waiting for blood work.
Not to worry now. Ramipril will take some time to act and your blood pressure will go down. even if not dose can be increased or another medicine can be added. consume low salt diet. after your bp is controlled then you can undergo stress test although not really indicated. you can get your sugars and lipid profile test done.
