What Causes High Body Temperature, Racing Heart And Stomach Pain?

Hi My 20 year old daughter was admitted to hospital 3 weeks ago with a high temperature , racing heart and stomach pain. She had blood tests and a medical examination and was diagnosed with a stomach infection. She was discharged with a course of antibiotics but returned to hospital with the same symptoms 2 weeks later. This time she was told that she had a water infection and was given a course of different antibiotics. Now ,1 week later she does not feel much better and still has some abdominal pain and increased heart rate at times. She feels tired and just ill . Where does she go from here?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your doubts

I can understand your concern. Sudden onset stomach pain, racing heart rate, raised body temperature etc symptoms can occur in stomach infection. She has taken complete course of antibiotics and then symptoms recurred. Still she has persisting symptoms of abdominal pain and racing heart rate. In my opinion she should undergo repeat tests done to rule out any further infection. She is feeling tired and such symptoms could be post infection sequel of stomach infection. Just one week has passed so wait for some more time for recovery. If symptoms persist then visit a gastroenterologist for help. Provide her plenty of fluids, citrus juices and this will help in quick recovery. Lactic acid spores will help in maintaining proper balance.
