What Causes High Cholesterol Along With Severe Fatigue?

I had a physical this week and found that my cholesterol is very high, 249 and my dr. advised me to double up my simvastatin to 80 MG now. I used to take 40 each day. This seems like it is really, really high. I am 61, only have slighty high BP and am on Diovan 160 mg 1/2 tab daily. I also am experiencing major tiredness. Wonder if this is related at all to my thyroid? My dr. said except for not drinking enough my other labs were good.

Hello,

Mine's higher. Thyroid perhaps should be tested. BUT statistically, diabetes is at least 10 times more likely. If getting up to urinate more than 1x a night, this is a strong indicator of diabetes. Otherwise, the lack of exercise will contribute to cholesterol and lack of energy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
