What Causes High Cholesterol Level?

My sister told me her total cholesterol is 306 and the doctor said it was fine. He also told her she had 0 LDL cholesterol. Her triglycerides are 129. She does not know the breakdown of her HDL and VLDL. The doctor told her this is fine. What do you think? She does not drink but does not exercise much. She is not overweight. Her diet is not terrible, but it is strange. She only eats one thing at a sitting.
