What Causes High Fever Along With Body Ache?

I have had a 100.2-101.8 fever for two days straight. Achiness, fatigue, and I have two canker sores (one on inside of bottom lip and one on inside of cheek), I also have what seems to be a canker sore on my top lip at the point where it meets my bottom lip. I have been taking NyQuil at night and DayQuil during the day and can t seem to break the fever for more than an hour or two at a time.h f

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It appears you have what we call herpes labialis also known as cold sores. It is due to a viral infection cause by Herpes simple virus. The management is mainly supportive with antipyretics like paracetamol. Other medications which can help include oral antivirals like acyclovir, zinc and antiviral topical creams, local anaesthetics and avoid exposure to the sun.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
