What Causes High Fever Along With Cough And Cold In A Toddler While Teething?

Hello doctor, My daughter is going to be 2 yrs in 3 months. Whenever she is teething, she gets severe cold and cough. So, with time I realised that it is normal with her while teething but as now her Canines are erupting, along with cough and cold, she is having on and off high grade fever. And it s really hard to feed her like she almost abstains from food. she is not gaining weight but becoming weak day by day. I am very much worried about the same. Please guide what to do? I have gone through your query and can understand your concern about your daughter..

As per your complain during teething a toddler may experience mild fever and drooling of saliva as well as some other symptoms like swollen gums, irritability, rashes, abstaining from food etc but cold and cough and high fever signs of Viral Infection and you should consult a Paediatrician and her evaluations done and even get her complete blood count done..

The condition should be taken seriously and proper treatment should be followed ..
Right now you can give her Tylenol for reducing fever..
