What Causes High Fever Along With Elevated Blood Sugar Level And Chills?

Have been tired, chills, temp 101.9, sugar is 170, blood pressure 164/89, have been thirsty since fever started tonight, having some difficulty in breathing, and have been sick to stomach some tonight but haven t thrown up. Just not feeling right. I m 56 years old.

Hi. You obviously have an infection here--probably the flu--and that can raise blood sugar levels.

For now you need rest and plenty of fluids but unless you feel better in a day or two you need to see a doctor
