What Causes High Fever Along With Sore Throat And Ear Infection In A Child?
My 6 year old granddaughter spikes high fevers, 105, every 2 or 3 weeks. She never has major symptoms, mild sore throat, ear infection, or sinus infection. Her Dr sent her for blood work a ENT said she may have something called high fever disease or syndrome. What is that or what could she be tested for
General & Family Physician, Dr. Piyush K's Response
Welcome to health care magic. High grade fever such as 105 indicates that it could be infection could be viral or bacterial. Condition known as acute tonsilitis which means inflammation of tonsils, but for confirmation requires local examination by ENT doctor. Would advice you to do a blood test-haemogram for confirming if there is infection and follow up with ENT doctor with lab reports.
Thanks and regards.
