So i ve been having flu like symptoms for the past week now.. (high fever, sore throat, congestion, achy muscles, fatigue, and also white patches on my tonsils etc.. two days ago i tested positive for strep. so i figured that s all it was, and i was given a rocephin shot and told i would feel fine in the morning. when i got home, i noticed i had a white coated tongue. so i looked it up and i found it could be thrush. i ve seen the causes for thrush, taking consistent antibiotics(i ve been taking cefdinir for 6 days now 2 pills a day) and a weakened immune system. caused by hiv, which i noticed i have had a lot of symptoms of. i also have a gel little lumps on the string that attaches my tongue to the floor of my mouth. so i am very concerned. yesterday i took an at home(oraquick) hiv test, and it came back negative. but the test said there could be a false negative if you take the test within 2-4 after exposure. so i wake up this morning , still have a white tongue, still have bumps under my tongue(on the string part), and still have fatigue. i need help in finding out if this is just strep that caused this, or hiv caused me to catch strep, then get thrush. please help.
