What Causes High Fever And Dizziness?

I picked up my son today at camp because they said he had a fever of 107! He was light headed and feverish but he walked to the car, took him home, gave him Tylenol and his temp is now 100- is it possible he actually had that high a fever withou seizure, loss of consciousness, etc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it's pretty possible to have a temp of 107 and have no fits or unconsciousness. Rather these things are uncommon with a high fever.

However, 107 is too high and the patient feels very sick with. There is a good possibility of technical errors in recording temp like a faulty thermometer or keeping it too long inside the mouth (so not may be a wrong reading).

But it's not necessary to have fits or unconscious with 107. Whatever its good that he is feeling better now.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
