I have a 3yr old who came home this evening from the gym with dad. She walked up the stairs and crawled straight into bed and didn t want dinner. I found it a little strange but figured maybe she was still half asleep from a car nap. She was acting normal and in good spirits (wanting a movie put on for her and asking if she could help me with homework.) she fell asleep in my room and when I went to move her to her own room she was pretty hot to the touch. After stripping her clothes down and taking her temp, we still felt she was pretty hot to the touch and running a fever of 103.0. Her eyes seemed a little blood shot but I wasn t sure if that was just from having her sleep disrupted. She had the chills even though she was super hot and she has had a runny nose for a few days now. We dressed her again after giving her a bit of motrin and decided to take her to the er. while dressing her I also noticed a large sore with a white base and another smaller sore with a white base on the inside of her bottom lip. I looked over her entire body including her eyes, mouth, skin, ears, and throat before dressing her and everything else seemed fine. After taking her down stairs to place her in the car and be on our way to the hospital, she vomited at the front door and the substance was bright red foam. Her dad said that the last thing she had however was fruit punch so again I wasn t sure whether or not to find that suspicious or not? Lastly, we recently had a friend with a daughter that developed Kawasaki s disease and I am unfamiliar with the disease myself. I do not believe my daughter was exposed to the illness but just in case it was of significance, I wanted to mention it. What does my daughter likely have? I am home while dad runs her to the hospital and with little to no reception in the building, I am left to worry and wait!
