Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been running high fever off and on for the last 2-3 months bad cough felt like pneumonia which I was treated for my blood tests came back with low red cell levels and inflammation marker s cp is between acceptable and abnormal. I have lost 25 lbs I m thin normally and always have had trouble gaining but this is bad
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fever and severe cough which seems to be due to bronchitis/upper respirtory tract infection. As you havev low red blood cell count and inflammation markers are abnormal, I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for throat swab test and X-ray chest as well start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should get pulmonary function test done to check level of infection. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take steam inhalation. You should take antiallergic medication along with proper course of antibiotic along with Ibuorofen. Do tepid sponging.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
