What Causes High Fever, Headache And Body Stiffness In Spite Of Taking Ibuprofen?

I have been running a fever since monday. Have head aches, my body is stiff and aches, dizzy, feel dehydrated, but I m drinking a lot of fluids. My fever ranges but is constant. The moment my 4 - 6 hr ibuprofen wore off today I started feeling bad at 4 hrs on the nose. I continued to walk around and blacked out. I couldn t see till I started drinking a sugar drink. When I got home I had 104 fever.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of high fever, headache and body stiffness in spite of taking Ibuprofen which could be due to infection either by viral microorganism. It could be due to compromised immunity of body as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take combination of anti-inflammatory medication Cetirizine along with antiviral medication. Drink plenty of liquids. Take painkiller if backache is severe. Visit General physician once and get it examined. Get blood tests done if symptoms keeps on persisting. Do tepid sponging as well. Avoid intake of outside food. You should take Azithromycin as well as it could be the case of co-infection.
