What Causes High Fever In A Child?

4 year old boy. Fever came on suddenly, 102. Gave children s Advil and it came down. Felt better, ate a good supper and went to bed. Fever spiked again at 5 am. Gave more medicine. Fever went down to 99. About 10 am, he said he didnt feel good and he went to lay down. Woke up at noon and was burning up. Temp spiked again to 104. After he went home he took 3 hour nap, ate and was acting normal again. Today temp spiked again. Possible causes??

Hello,

Most probably it will be a simple viral fever. As of now give Paracetamol according to the body weight. If symptoms persist, you can take him to a paediatrician and run the required tests.
