What Causes High Fever, Tingling In Hands And Feet And Swollen Face?

Good evening, I have a question for my 19 y/o daughter. She has had a fever for the past 7 days. Her temperature runs from 100 to 102 without taking ibuprophen. Today her temperature comes down to 99F but she feels pins and needles on her hands and feet, and her face is swollen. Could this be a simple case of virus infection, or could it be a more serious case? Thank you very much in advance.
