Extremely dry membranes last night, unable to swallow or sleep, As I was drifting off the sleep suddenly gasping for air. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to bacterial infections and will improve with antibiotics. Consult a general practitioner and start on antibiotics preferably Amoxiclav. You can also do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
