What Causes High Heart Rate During Pregnancy?

Hello, I am 27 weeks pregnant with gestational diabetes. I am currently experiencing quite a high heart rate of 120 bpm. I have checked my blood pressure and it is in the normal range; 112/71. I would be very grateful of any advice you could give me as I am worried about my resting pulse of 120 bpm. Thankyou very much.

HI,
I understand your concern.
In pregnancy, heart has to overwork because of-
Blood volume is increased ( 600-700 ml )in pregnancy. & to meet the needs of fetus heart has to pump more forcibally & eject more blood each time. The heart raye s increased by about 18% more than normal. So rise in your heart beat can be labelled normal.
Still,
-As you have gestational diabetes, get your blood pressure checked.
- Low hemoglobin can also causes rise in heart rate.Get that also excluded.
Consult your treating doctor & get the doubts cleared.
Thanks.
