Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a lab report for my 16 yo son. The Potassium is High 5.4 Protein 5.1 albumin 5.1 triglycerides 237 LDL Chol 105 LDL/HDL risk ratioo 4.02 HDL What could be appointment isnt until next week and I am really curious as to the possibilites. the HDL Chol is low 26
Based on the history you have shared, two values are significant clinically.
First potassium is on higher side which needs to be worked up for the possibile cause. As any further increase can be dangerous for cardiac safety etc.
Also tha HDL is very low which is good cholesterol and needs to be above 40 ideally.
Clinical correlation of these labs is a must so must be followed up with the prescribing physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
