What Causes High Protein Levels In Urine?

They just did physical on 15 yr old son his protein in his urine is high they r gonna do a renal sonogram and he has to urinate in hug for 24 yes I haven t talked to him yet but wanted to find reasons why u get high protein cause I don t want him hearing something than getting upset

Proteinuria (high protein in urine) has to be evaluated and may be due to nephrotic syndrome. It is not common in this age group and thus has to be evaluated. A kidney biopsy may be required to find out the cause.
