What Causes High Temperature, Headache, Chest Pain And Coughing?

hi doctor, my wife had been hospitalised with high temperature severe headache chestpain and coughing, she have ulcer problems so had give her only antibiotic injection for one week and discharged from hospital last week, they told us she ha ve viral fever with chest infection. and to take bedrest,... but yetreday again she have some temperature 100 again so visietd doctor , had blood and urine checck, but she have all the counts found normal . , her coughs and chestpain comes down , but still it there, her temperature is 98.5 around in morning hours but it raises up to 100 in night, no medicine for her now . now what shall we do? WHY THE TEMPERATURE RECURRING?

i appreciate you concern sir,

As for a viral fever antibiotic administration is not advised. because antibiotics is meant for bacterial born infection.
normally viral fever will persist for 7 to 10 days depends upon the severity.
as your investigation was normal no need to worry.as other symptoms getting settled.
but your wife complaining of fever on and off especially in night may indicates some systemic involvement and other infection like tuberculosis.

i kindly advise you consult a internal medicine specialist to rule out the clear cause of fever and further medical management.
