What Causes High Urea Levels?
my mum has a high urea count and she wonders if she needs her thryroid checked . She is lways cold but has lota of energy . she eats tonnes of fruit and veg but very little meat or carbs but lots of fish and cheese?? they say maybe type 2 diabetes?? she has wondered about thyroid for a while thank you

May i know please the lab level of Urea? Did your mum checked for the first time this test?
Did she is diagnoses for DM type 2?
I would like to know the level of blood glucose test and allso fasting plasma glucose test.
About mum question for thyroid desoreders and hight urea levels ?!?!To feel cold is one of symptoms of Hypothyroid butttt
In my opinion we must to know TSH,Ft3 ,Ft4 .because the kidney normally contributes to the clearance of iodide, primarily by glomerular filtration.
Thus, iodide excretion is diminished in advanced renal failure, leading sequentially to an elevated plasma inorganic iodide concentration and an initial increment in thyroidal iodide uptake.
Allso increases in total body inorganic iodide can potentially block thyroid hormone production .
Your mum problem ist look like renal desesase if we have normal rang of thyroid horman and blood test for diagnoses DM2 will be in rang.
