What Causes Higher Level Of Potassium With Hyperthyroidism?
YES, I HAVE A 19 YEARS OLD DAUGHTER (9/27/1992) SHE WAS DIAGNOIST ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO WITH HYPER THYROID AND IS CURRENTLY TAKING 50 MCG LEVOTHYROXIN DAILY. SHE HAS JUST WENT FOR HER YEARLY CHECK UP. HER MD THINKS SHE MAY A HAVE HEART VALVE NOT WORKING PROPERLY (HOLD IN IT) HE IS SAYING ITS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT THAT 40% ON PEOPLE HAVE THIS. BUT NOW HER BLOOD WORK HAS COME IN AND HER POTASSIUM IS A LITTLE HIGH. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SUCH A YOUNG GIRL?? WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR HER???
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, let me tell you that if the test results are not correlating with the clinical condition then it is nothing to worry here as long as the cardiac status is concern no test finding are given but for sure it is nothing to worry even for the potassium result, more over both the condition if ever there then it is not related with thyroid disease or may not be due to that, ask the physician for follow up and for final diagnosis, hope this helps
