What Causes Hip Pain After Undergoing ORIF Of The Hip?

Its been a year since I had an ORIF of the left hip. I am still experiencing severe pain to where I can't sit down or stand-up for any long period of time & when I lay down I have to lay on my right side due to the pain. I had an xray that only revealed mild degenrative joint disease. So, I guess my question would be is it normal to experience this type of pain?
