What Causes Hive Like Rash While On Imbruvica And Cortisone Shot?

Been taking 420 mg of Imbruvica for 10 months with no side effects. I had a cortisone spinal injection 8 days ago. Yesterday I developed a hive like rash on my chest & back . Having hot & cold flashes. Flu like symptoms. Temperature @ 98.4. Do you think the cortisone may be interacting negatively with the Imbruvica? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms does not seem to be related to a reaction between Cortisone and Imbruvica.
It is more likely to be related to a viral infection.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the flu like symptoms.
I also suggest using Calamine lotion for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
