What Causes Hives And Itching During Menstruation?
hello, my 20 year old daughter gets severe hives, swollen eyes, tongue itchness, body itchness, nausea and vomiting during her period. this occurs approximately 2-3 times per year. she has seasonal allergies which she was tested for, however when the above conditions occur during her menstruation, it can be anytime of the year - winter or summer. thank you for any help you can give us
The cause of this allergy-like condition seems to be directly connected to hormonal changes. You should ask the gynecologist to talk directly to the treating dermatologist or GP as this situation is clearly a cross-speciality condition. The local dermatologist should, as long as the reason is not clear, provide an allergy emergency set. Because once the tongue is itching it can start to swell one day. That would be an emergency. So please challenge the colleagues involved and insist on a medical coordination across disciplines.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
