What Causes Hives And Swollen Hands And Lips After Taking Penicillin?

Ive been taking penicillin for about 4-5 days for a tooth ache an at work ive been working in the sun and first my hands started to swell and now my bottom lip is swollen and I have hives on my back and buttocks my doctor wants to prescribe a steroid pack

I have gone through your query and can very well understand your health concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms you explained are of adverse drug reaction or allergic reaction to Penicillin and you should immediately stop the intake of the drug to prevent further complications and consult your dentist..

You should take antihistamine s like Allegra 60mg twice daily to reduce allergic symptoms..
In case of severe reaction steroids pack can be taken buy mostly symptoms get relieved with antihistamines..

In case of not improving consult an Emergency Room for injectable stitution of anti allergics and steroids..
