What Causes Hoarse Voice, Anxiousness And Fast Heartbeats?

I am in need of a new endocrinologist. I live in Sierra Vista, Az. I have 2 nodules, one on each side of the thyroid, each has their own blood supply. I am currently on no thyroid meds. I have been on Methimazole 5mg but, was taken off med more that a year ago. My present Dr. just does blood work & has done nothing else for over a year. I get very hoarse, lose my voice completely at times, as very anxious, & heart beats extremely fast at times. To the point I think I will choke. My weight at the moment is varying 4 - 8 pds. Can you help me. Sheila Slaughter

methimazole is actually used to treat an overactive thyroid gland and/ or is used in treating or preparing the overactive thyroid gland for surgery. It may also be used when your doctor has advised against the removal of the thyroid. in your case you need to consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation of your thyroid gland, it could be they will need to order a thyroid scan to evaluate the size if surgery is indicated already.
