Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sometimes when i sneeze I lose my voice. It becomes very hoarse and i am not able to clear it right away. It comes back slowly. I do not have any known allergies. I work in a very dusty environment ( countertop manufacturing ), but this was going on before i started my current position. What do you think is going on?
Sneezing occurs because of some irritating material or secretion present in the respiratory tract, to expel it out of the track. If you have a problem of harshness in a voice that means there is inflammation in the pharynx. Allergies always do not appear in the form of skin reactions. Dust or pollen or pollution allergies appear in such type of respiratory problems. Just start tablet montelukast in the evening for 15 days. Steam inhalation 2-3 times daily. Do salt water gargles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
