I have had hoarseness for the last 3 months. I saw an ENT approx 3 weeks ago and he performed a procedure, in his office, using a flexible scope. The scope was introduced into my nostril and down my throat after spraying with a numbing spray. It seems to me he looked for maybe just a few minutes then stated that he observed some redness and thickening of the mucosal tissue but nothing else that appeared abnormal. He called it Globus , I believe and stated that it was likely due to my history of GERD, which I was already taking Nexium for, and allergies. He increased my Nexium to twice a day, prescribed Nasonex nasal spray and told me to take an OTC allergy pill daily. He then scheduled a F/U appt. to see him again in six weeks. I have complied with all of his orders with zero relief and am really getting worried that something else may be going on. I continue to be hoarse and also have a slightly sore throat. Co-workers are constantly asking me if I m sick due to the sound of my voice. I m a 43 year old male and have always had a very strong voice up until approximately 3 months ago, when I first noticed the problem. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Brad
