What Causes Hole In The Pancreas?

I had a CT Scan in emergency last night (I went there due to severe pain in my abdomen). The results indicated that I have a 5mm hole in my pancreas. What could be the cause, and how can it be treated? I was given scripts for pain and acid reflux - will these help?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is unlikely that you have a hole in your pancreas. Rather, it could be a cyst or an abscess. This may be drained surgically depending on their location. Talk to your gastroenterologist about the specific CT description.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
