General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms your niece is experiencing could be caused by several different conditions. The rapid weight loss, loose bowels, and vomiting could be indicative of gastrointestinal issues such as an infection, inflammatory bowel disease, or celiac disease. The headaches may be related to the same condition or could be a separate issue altogether, such as a migraine or tension headache.

The hot and cold spells may be related to fever, which can be a symptom of infection or inflammation. The history of too much spinal fluid may also be relevant, as conditions such as hydrocephalus can cause a buildup of fluid in the brain, which can lead to symptoms such as headaches, vomiting, and changes in temperature regulation.

Given the family history of cancer and autoimmune diseases, it may be worth considering these possibilities as well. However, it's important to keep in mind that these symptoms can have a wide range of causes and it's best to see a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Your niece should seek medical attention as soon as possible to determine the underlying cause of her symptoms and receive appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
