What Causes Hot Flashes And Headaches After Partial Hysterectomy?
I am 51 years old. Had a partial hysterectomy (cervix and uterus). I have bad hot flashes during the day along with headaches and a 17 pound weight gain. I am starting hormone therapy tomorrow. Unsure what they gave me is a good choice . What would you recommend ? And what reasons would they decide to remove my cervix? I had a prolapsed uterus.
You are above the menopause age as you are 51 years old. At this age, the uterus is no-more useful to you but it is causing you a problem, so they removed it. The hormonalchanges in your body results in hot flashes, headache, and increase in weight.
For this, they put you on hormone replacement treatment. Most of the part has been done by the doctor. From my side, I advise you to eat high calcium and fibre diet, and do pelvic excercises.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lk.tata.lk
