Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past two weeks my face will flush sometimes lSting for hours. No embarrassment, no provocation. It s hot to the touch and can almost make me feel feverish but it s just my face. I only have half my thyroid due to having a goiter almost four years ago. At that time my thyroid functioned normally but was just severely enlarged. Any suggestions?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hot flashes on face. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like changes in reproductive hormones and in your body's thermostat also known as hypothalamus, which becomes more sensitive to slight changes in body temperature. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gynecologist for proper examination . To confirm the cause of your hot flashes, your doctor may suggest blood tests. Doctor may prescribe hormonal therapy along with drugs like venlafaxine and clonidine . For now drink plenty of water , do light exercises like walking and eat healthy .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
