What Causes Hot Flushes Post Propranolol Withdrawal?

I stopped taking propranalol and im getting hot and cold flushes. I also take citalopram and have been for 2 years. I have read up and apparently there is a big chance im going to have a heart attack even though I dont feel out of breath or have any kind of chest pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

On stopping propranolol you could have withdrawal symptoms like irregular heart rate, sweating and shaking and flushing. It takes around one or two days for the body to flush the drug out of the body. But the withdrawal symptoms could last for a week.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
