What Causes Huge Bumps On The Thighs And Vagina?

I get huge bumps on my thighs/vagina. I ve always thought they were boils or infected hairs. They get large, sore, and drained by themselves within a week or two. I got another one today except this one was so sore I couldn t lay right. I looked at it and there s a large area around the bump that looks swollen as well. I finally got it to where it would drain but what s coming out of it is very oil like. Should I be considered? What are they? How to I keep from getting them?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

They can be infected hair follicles. Keep good hygiene. Wear clothes washed with dettol. Use loofah to cleanse yourself. If the swelling increases in size and become painful, consult a surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suhas Chauhan
