Hello and welcome to HCM,
A lump in the groin area could be due to
lymph node enlargement.
Discoloration over the lump appears to be due to primary skin disorder.
However, before assessing the cause of hyper pigmentation in the groin region, it is important to know the cause and nature of the lump in the groin region.
An aspiration cytology of the swelling is required to know the origin and nature of the swelling.
In aspiration cytology, a needle is inserted into the swelling, cells are aspirated and spread onto a slide and stained with appropriate stain.
The stained cells are examined to know the nature of the swelling.
Thereafter the cause of hyper pigmentation of the skin can be investigated.
Consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Thanks and take care
