Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My nipples have been quite sensitive for the past two weeks or so. My period isn t due for another 2 weeks, and I m sure I m not pregnant (because I haven t had sex in a while). It s not the areola, only the nipples, and they re so sensitive that sometimes i feel them rubbing against my bra, and it feels good. (There isn t pain, only ever pleasure from their sensitivity.) Can you tell me why they re so sensitive?
A sensitive pain in the nipple area that you are feeling can be due to the stimulation of nipple due to hitting of water on it. Since there is no palpable lump or discharge from the nipple there is no need to worry.
In case the pain is persistent then you need to consult a doctor for a physical examination to rule out any infection or inflammation of nipples.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
