What Causes Hyper Sensitivity On The Finger Tips?

Over the last couple of weeks I ve noticed that my fingertips are extremely sensitive to touch. To the point that I hate the feeling of fabric touching them. It doesn t hurt I just don t like the sensation. It almost feels like when I touch something like cotton socks with my fingertips it feels like rough wool.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my surgical experience, the issue of hypersensitivity on fingertips can be via damage to terminal nerve endings, microscopic damage to surrounding capillary tufts or proximal lesion giving distal features.

It is recommended to undertake a detailed neurologic examination with possible requirement of nerve conduction study or electromyography testing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
