What Causes Hyperostosis Frontalis Interna?

my daughter was diagnosed with hyperostosis frontalis internus, but my question is, she has a deformity of the top of her skull where it looks like on x-ray that there is a curve upward in the top of her skull. Almost looks like something is in there pushing upward. CT Scan called it the same, as being a normal variant.
