Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hypotension Along With Dizziness, Nausea And Headache?
I have low blood pressure, sometime dangerously low, such as 80 over 50. Sometime it is normal, as 110 over 75. I have frequent dizzy spells, nausea, concentration problems, and extreme headaches. Could Prozac be the culprit. I began taking it 20 years ago for fibromyalga. It took care of the problem, and I ve been taking it ever since. 40 miligrams per day???
Usually Prozac intake is associated with increased blood pressure. If your blood pressure (BP) has started to get reduced just recently, then, it is associated to something else then Prozac.
I highly recommend to consult with cardiologist and run a few diagnostic cardiac tests to rule out cardiovascular problems:
- EKG
- Echocardiogram
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test
Furthermore blood tests should be run to rule out dehydration and loss of electrolytes and anemia:
- complete blood count
- blood electrolytes
- liver/kidney function tests
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
General & Family Physician
