Hello, I m a 54 year old female, 5 6 170 lbs. AST 110 (ref range 10-35), ALT 164 (ref range 6-29). I also have low WBC 3.2L and Low Neutrophils 1370 L, High Urea Nitrogen 27, and BUN/Creatine ratio 33. Doctor ordered tests because I have had idiopathic edema of my feet. Is there anything to be concerned about?
Idiopathic edema is a term used when you have no obvious cause found for edema. Here, you have abnormal liver tests, meaning you have some kind of hepatic involvement, which could in turn cause edema. First, you need serum albumen levels, low levels which are seen in liver diseases, can cause edema of feet. Get yourself thoroughly evaluated with other tests like 2D echo, thyroid, urine albumen etc. Treating the cause can resolve your problem. All the best.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vaddadi Suresh
