What Causes Illness After Taking Lisinopril HCTZ?

Hello, I have been taking lisinopril-HCTZ 10 12.5 for 4 days and I feel kind of crummy. Very tired and like I m getting the flu. I don t have fever, nausea, headache, etc. and I don t feel weak. Just very, very tired and the way I feel just before I get full blown flu. About how long does it take on average for a body to adjust to the medication? Thank you!

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get serum electrolytes done as the contents of this drug alter with electrolytes causing such symptoms so any chances of high potassium and low sodium should be ruled out.

Cough may also be side effect with such drug. You may need to be switched to amlodipine as alternative if so.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
