What Causes Immobility In The Right Arm And Leg After A Stroke?
My father had a mini stroke recently. He s 75.we took him to the hospital when we noticed a sudden drop in his right wrist. The doctors put him on nootropil. Now even though his doctor was positive that he will get his speech back and will get better he didn t. Now he s unable to move his right arm or leg. Or perform simple tasks like brushing his teeth or spitting after brushing or use a toothpick that he could earlier. What can be the possible reason?
Your father clinical situation is related to the brain damage. You should know that the degree of recovery depends on the patient's characteristics and comorbidities.
Not all the patients recover to the same degree from the same types of stroke. Anyway, I recommend continuing physiotherapy, which is the best tool to help him recover.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
