What Causes Incision Bruise And Swelling Post C-section Surgery?

I had a c section 5.5 weeks ago. I started exercising yesterday (was very for prior to giving birth). Today I unfortunately have a lot of swelling above the incision. It also is red and appears to have some bruising. I am unable to find any information online. Any suggestions?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Slight bruising and swelling is normal following c section. However if it increases too much you must consult your gynecologist immediately. Cold compression might provide symptomatic relief. Regards.
